Our odd shaped apex windows were causing us a headache – we had tried blinds and curtains both of which didn’t look great. We then discovered David at Avanti Shaped Blinds and never looked back! He came and had a look at the windows – made great suggestions about the type of shutters that would work, gave us a very reasonable quote and fitted them brilliantly, and we are delighted! David and the team at Avanti Shaped Blinds and Shutters installed a number of automated plantation shutters to the bedrooms of our home. Living in a converted barn, most of the windows are triangular shaped and one consists of three triangles next to each other. A nice architectural feature, however, a nightmare for window dressings. The whole process with David was handled with professionalism and we were kept informed of delivery timescales and installation dates throughout. We chose to have the shutters colour co-ordinated to the window colour and David made the whole process easy from start to finish. Aftercare sales have also been faultless, as being a barn the walls weren’t perfect and David visited back to the house with some custom made trim pieces. All in all an excellent experience and we would not hesitate to recommend David or use him for any future works.

Our recent large extension included a first-floor master bedroom with floor to apex curtain walling overlooking the garden. We hadn’t given too much thought on how to dress the window but soon realised we needed something to stop us being woken at sunrise!

We searched far and wide for a solution and discovered Avanti Shaped Blinds and their web site had examples of blinds for apex windows. David responded very quickly to our initial approach and provided quotes for various options. We decided on solar powered shutters in Anthracite to match the curtain walling and are delighted with the results.

David also provided large powered roller blinds to the ground floor folding door sets at a higher quality and similar price than ones we had bought previously for the original house.

We are simply thrilled with the work done by David on our Gothic arches. When we purchased a new home in a conservation area we thought it would be a simple job to get custom shutters for our gothic arches. This would suit the area and capture the arches without hiding them under curtains. After contacting two major UK brands - who advertise that they can do any arch and having home visits by both we were told that it couldnt be done - gothic arches were a no-no. One went so far as to say "if we cant do it no one can." They offered other solutions but nothing that would shape/frame the arch. Further research and more companies "we've never met an arch we couldnt cover" - well they have now. This led us to look for other solutions such as specialised curtain poles and pinterest was scoured for solutions. Eventually by pure chance we found Avanti Shaped Blinds. The website made similar promises as previous companies, but the examples of the work and testimonials actually made us think they might be able to do it. We contacted David by email and provided him with photos and dimensions. He was promptly in contact with guideline pricing and gave us the fantastic news that pending a site visit it could be done. From then on we were in safe hands. David provided clear professional advice and costings. The precision with which he conducted the site visit was incomparable to the rough guesses/half-baked solutions provided by the other companies. David actually took the time to look at the walls and noted all the particular issues there might be for installation. The benefit of having the site visit done by the person who would actually install - rather than a sales person. We were so impressed we also asked him to do another simple window to match. He kept us up to date on the progress of our order and when it came to install the process was simple (for us!) and stress free. They look superb inside and out. We are sure they have added value to our home. He left our home cleaner than when he arrived! We would not hesitate to recommend David and Avanti Shaped.

We had to find something that would let us control the light without wrecking the beauty of our huge arched windows. Avanti Shaped Blinds did just that. The bottom part of the windows have blinds that function in the normal way whilst the top arched section can be feathered to give more or less light. We were impressed with David Rigby from the start. His expertise, breadth of knowledge and ability to understand what was important to us was instantly encouraging. The surveying visit was a real eye-opener. The work was meticulous, painstaking and as proved by the final product, very accurate. He advised us throughout the selection process, and we ended up with a product that we are delighted with. We wanted something understated and went for white, light and thin blinds. These enhanced our windows rather than detracting from their character. David was a joy to deal with. He was quiet, skilful, professional, personable, and respectful of our home. We’d certainly have no hesitation in recommending him to others. An exemplary job!

When extending our bungalow we installed a large apex window on the new master bedroom, which is also south facing. We had been unprepared at how difficult it would be to find a company that would be able to provide made to measure shaped blinds. We approached a few companies for ideas and prices and found that David from Avanti Shaped Blinds was personable with great experience and product knowledge. We have recently moved into a house in the Yorkshire Dales and wanted arched blinds/shutters for a statement window at the top of the stairs. The house is old, with no two walls the same and sloping in all directions! Our new build home has a number of gables in double height rooms. Trying to find a company that could supply blinds that would look good, provide effective shade and work with these awkward angles proved difficult. No one seemed able to meet our needs until we discovered Avanti blinds. And this was after a global search. We now have our whole house fitted with blinds from Avanti and we are very happy with everything, the quality, service and price are all first class! We have the wooden venetian blinds in every room apart from the conservatory where we have the Cellular blinds and they all look beautiful.
